F A Q s

  • Are walks cancelled in extreme weather?

Not usually. 'Phone the walks leader to check.

  •  Am I insured for personal injury under R A Public Liability Insurance?

No. Individual walkers are not indemnified. Members walk at their own risk. The

policy does not cover the legal liability of persons who are not fully paid-up members

of the RA normally residing in the United Kingdom. Anyone leading an RA walk who

is not an RA member will not be covered by this insurance .

  • Do I need to bring a packed lunch?

Yes, usually for all day walks this will be needed. For shorter walks guidance is given in the <walks programme,> either in print or on-line.

  • Can I rely on the bus information given in the members' newsletter or on the on-line walksfinder?

Information given is only a guide. Please check using our ,<links page>.

  • Can I bring my dog on a walk?

If a walk does not specifically say "No Dogs" or bear a symbol to that effect, then you need to contact the leader of the walk to check that there would be no problem.

  • Must I be a Ramblers' Association member to walk with your group?
  • You are welcome to come and experience one or two walks without first becoming a member. If we suit you and you wish to continue walking with us, you would be expected to join the Ramblers' Association.
